These terms apply to the Offline GPS LiveMap Android application ("the app"), published by C60 Limited ("we", "us"). By installing or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The app is a navigation and location-sharing aid. It estimates position underground and off-grid from the phone's own sensors and from other phones nearby. Those estimates drift with distance and depend on the phone's hardware, how it is carried, the weather and the environment.
The app is not a safety device and must not be relied upon as the only means of navigation, of finding another person, or of calling for help. It cannot contact emergency services, does not replace a cave survey, a trained guide, lights, spare equipment or a trip plan left with someone outside, and must never be the reason to go somewhere or to continue when you would otherwise turn back. Caving, canyoning, mining, backcountry travel and underground work carry a risk of serious injury or death. You accept that risk and remain responsible for your own decisions and safety at all times.
We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on Android devices linked to your Google account, subject to these terms and to Google Play's terms. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, resell or redistribute the app except where the law allows.
Starting a new tracking trip requires an active subscription bought through Google Play. The subscription starts with a free trial of three days for new subscribers and then renews monthly at the price shown in Google Play until you cancel. Cancel at any time in Google Play › Subscriptions; cancelling during the free trial means nothing is charged, and cancelling later keeps access until the end of the paid period. Prices may vary by country. Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Google Play under Google Play's refund policy; we do not receive or store your payment details.
Safety rules that we build in: a trip that is already running is never interrupted by billing; nothing is revoked while the phone has no network; and if the subscription has lapsed, an emergency unlock in the app gives three days of full function without payment, usable again seven days after the last use. The emergency unlock is for emergencies. Demo mode, saved trips, maps and settings remain available without a subscription. Without Google Play services the app runs free for three days from first launch and cannot be subscribed to.
When you start tracking with a squad code, the app sends your position, depth, trail, battery level, chosen name and pins to other phones using the same code within radio range, and those phones relay them. You control this by choosing the code and starting or stopping tracking. Do not share a code with people you do not want to see your position. We do not operate any server and never receive this data.
Map tiles come from third-party servers you select (OpenTopoMap and OpenStreetMap by default), under their own licences and usage policies (OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL; OpenTopoMap style CC-BY-SA). Download only the areas you need. Map content may be out of date or wrong.
The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability of any radio or sensor feature on your device, or uninterrupted operation. Features that depend on hardware (barometer, step detector, UWB, Wi-Fi RTT, Google Play services) only work on devices that have it.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss, injury, death, damage or cost arising from use of or reliance on the app, including inaccurate positions, lost or late messages between phones, battery exhaustion or any interruption, however caused. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
We may update the app and these terms. Material changes will be shown in the app or on Google Play. Continued use after a change means you accept it.
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and the courts there have exclusive jurisdiction, without affecting consumer rights you have under the law of your country of residence. Contact: support@bellrope.app.
